Sparring & Coaching
My clients usually leave the coaching session feeling a bit tired (from the unusual self-reflection).
A small price - since at the same time, they leave relieved and inspired!
The core theme can be summarised as: ‘Pause, reflect to pick up speed’.
Coaching is an ongoing and indispensable investment in the success and future of every high performer and every management team.
Ideally, we go to places that give us a ‘distance’ from everyday life in order to receive coaching and sparring...
When should you invest in coaching?
There are three reasons:
- Further development: for me and my organisation
- Assessment and revitalisation: for me and the success of my organisation
- Pressure: I have to change myself and my organisation.
I would rather rephrase the above question: Can I afford not to invest in myself through coaching?
Goal orientation
At the beginning of each coaching session, we ask ourselves the questions: What is the actual concern? What is the bottleneck, what hurts, what ‘demands’ change? What could be the next step?
I experience two perspectives. These often merge – and in a coaching session we usually work on both.
Sparring for strategic topics
Looking at strategic and complex challenges together from a ‘helicopter perspective’, developing hypotheses and new approaches to solutions.
To do this, we also work with the organisational chart of the company or department, with the strategy and with the stakeholder landscape.
Topics can include: How do I put together my management team? How can I position my company for the challenges ahead? How do I develop my new strategy? How do I ensure that the strategy is implemented in the company? How can I improve cooperation between sales and production?
The methods and approaches for this come primarily from change management, strategy development and systemic organisational development.
Coaching for your own effectiveness
At its core, it is about self-management. How can I perceive my professional and private roles more vividly and authentically – and influence them positively?
To do this, we look at both our interactions with others and the dynamics of our own patterns of action and thought.
Typical questions are, for example: How can I deal better with a conflicting partner? How can I gain more respect in the management team? How can I reawaken my strength and my will to lead? How can I change from being a driven person to a creator? How can I lead a fulfilled life both privately and professionally? How can I keep my private relationships alive and at the same time fulfil my professional expectations?
The coachee develops the answers to these questions themselves. I provide friendly, provocative feedback, ask appropriate questions, and carry out experiments and show interest in new solutions.
The methods and approaches used are mainly derived from performance coaching (ToGROW), Gestalt therapy, vision quests, systemic counselling and systemic couple and family therapy, as well as depth psychology.
How do we start?
Let's get to know each other. Sympathy and trust are crucial. We need to feel comfortable.
As a rule, coaching sessions last 3–4 hours. If more depth or strategic topics are required, we can also schedule a full day of coaching.
We plan the intervals between coaching sessions depending on the occasion.
The coaching sessions take place either at my premises in Bad Hersfeld or at other invigorating locations. However, not at your ‘everyday’ places (office, etc.).
In addition, we can arrange shorter digital coaching sessions.
